Contracts/Operations Manager – Water – Midlands & North
Location: Midlands & North Region
Salary: £85,000 - £110,000 (DOE ) + Package
Our client is a leading principal contractor delivering major projects across demolition, industrial dismantling, earthworks, remediation, water infrastructure, and wider civil engineering sectors. With a strong reputation for delivering complex projects safely and efficiently, they are now looking to appoint an ambitious Operations Manager to lead and grow their Water division across the Midlands and North.
This is a strategic leadership opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager or a high-performing Senior Contracts Manager looking to take the next step in their career.
The Opportunity
The successful candidate will take ownership of the Water sector within the business, leading operational delivery while playing a key role in driving growth, identifying opportunities, winning new work, and developing long-term client relationships.
You will be instrumental in shaping the future of the division, working closely with senior leadership to expand their presence across major frameworks and high-profile infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the operational delivery of water and civil engineering projects across the Midlands and North Manage multiple project teams, ensuring safe, successful, and profitable project delivery Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and framework providers Identify and secure new business opportunities within the water sector Drive the growth strategy for the division and support future expansion plans Oversee project performance, commercial outcomes, and resource planning Ensure compliance with all HSEQ standards and industry regulations Support tendering activities, bid submissions, and strategic business development initiatives Provide leadership, mentoring, and development to project and site teams Requirements
Proven experience within the water and civil engineering sectors Strong operational and project delivery background Experience managing major infrastructure projects and/or framework contracts Demonstrable ability to build and maintain client relationships Strong commercial awareness and leadership capabilities Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Full UK driving licence This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious leader who wants to make a genuine impact within a successful and expanding contractor.
