Our client, a well established global logistics organisation, is seeking an Operations Specialist to join their growing team based in Chelmsford. Working from a modern open plan office, this is an excellent opportunity to become part of an international business with a strong reputation within the logistics sector.
The Role As an Operations Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the day to day running of freight forwarding operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery and operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities will include: • Managing and coordinating daily operational activities • Liaising with customers, suppliers and internal departments • Maintaining and developing strong client relationships • Monitoring shipments and resolving operational issues • Identifying and implementing process improvements • Producing operational reports and maintaining accurate records • Supporting projects and ensuring operational objectives are achieved • Delivering excellent customer service at all times
What We Are Looking For: • Previous experience within freight forwarding, logistics or supply chain operations • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities • Excellent communication and relationship building skills • A highly organised approach with strong attention to detail • The ability to work effectively within a fast paced environment • Good commercial awareness and confidence when dealing with customers • Strong information technology skills and the ability to manage operational systems efficiently • Experience of freight consolidations would be highly advantageous • Exposure to ocean freight operations would be beneficial
