This role is based in a warehouse (Kendrew Barracks) and traveling to multiple military sites. With no lone working you will always be part of a great team.
JOB PURPOSE:
* The day-to-day management of performance to meet operational, service and administrative KPI'
* The management and motivation of subordinate staff to ensure a high level of quality and efficiency is maintained.
* To deliver a high-quality service within budget
* Monitor and report on all aspects of activity and spend.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Monthly and Weekly scheduling and resource planning against anticipated forecasts
* Daily operation of vehicles and staff in a cost-effective manner to ensure optimum resource utilisation to meet customer requirements
* Daily operation of stores including stock control, ordering and reporting, inventory management.
* Lead and manage your team in a manner that maximises their strengths
* Ensure that regulations and legislation are complied with at all times
* Liaise with customers and cell planners on schedules and operational matters as appropriate
* Adherence to ISO environmental and quality standards. Timely submission of activity reports and MI
Training and Development
* Appraise all subordinates in a timely and effective fashion, highlighting training and development needs and setting SMART objectives.
* Be responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the department training matrix and for the ongoing training of all staff under your control.
* Review training needs through a minimum of one appraisal meeting with each member of the team per annum and quarterly department meetings and Create new training programmes as the need arises.
Recruitment and Discipline
* Instruct HR in the criteria for replacement / recruitment of staff as appropriate and Be responsible for the final recruitment decision.
* Take responsibility for the discipline of staff under your control up to and including final written warnings.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
This role requires the person to have the following:
* Category C1 Driving Licence
* PAT testing certification
* Handyman experience and IT literate
* People management skills and Customer service skills
* Knowledge of basic employment legislation and Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
