The Role

The Operations Team Leader plays a key role in the smooth day-to-day running of centre operations, ensuring learners, tutors, clients and internal teams are supported effectively. The role is responsible for overseeing and co-ordinating core operational activity including exam bookings and invigilation, attendance monitoring, and inbox management. This role offers line management responsibility as the team and operations function continue to grow.

Key Responsibilities

• Line manage Operations Team members


• Oversee the booking of exams in line with awarding body requirements and internal deadlines


• Create and manage centre rotas to ensure appropriate operational cover


• Monitor and manage learner attendance, escalating concerns where appropriate


• Act as a senior onsite operational contact for internal teams and learners


• Manage and coordinate exam invigilation and ensure compliance with exam and centre regulations


• Manage shared inboxes, ensuring timely and accurate responses to queries


• Support day-to-day centre management activities to ensure smooth delivery


• Coordinate delivery resources to support teaching, exams, and centre activity

Skills and Experience

• Experience in an operations, administration, or education support role


• Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail


• Ability to manage multiple priorities in an occasionally fast-paced environment


• Pragmatic approach to problem solving


• Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills


• Potential for People Management skills and a desire for upward progression

• Strong computer skills (using Teams, Microsoft Office and Outlook) and willingness to learn more specialised systems
