Operations Transformation Consultant : Defence & Security

£55,000 - £85,000 (DOE) (+£15k Benefits Package)
(Depending on Level [Consultant to Manager])
You'll join a team of industry experts and provide consulting services to key Defence & Security clients. Rapidly expanding your existing industry knowledge, you'll specialise in your field. Harnessing our vast sector and technical expertise, we revolutionise our clients' core business and operations, helping them prepare for growth, adapt to budgetary constraints, embrace the digital agenda, and optimise operational efficiency.
As catalysts in our clients' projects, we drive significant delivery speed and quality improvements. This role also encourages creativity in developing client solutions. Our focus spans the entire life cycle of operations transformation, from designing operating models to executing operations transformation, encompassing process re-engineering and enhancing operational performance.
About the Role
To support our work, we are seeking candidates with experience in the following areas:
Operating Model Design:
Understanding the organisation's as-is and to-be states to create the optimal business architecture for successful strategy realisation in a digital age.
Service Design:
Placing people at the heart of the services we design, ensuring our solutions deliver the best experiences and maximum value to users, customers, and staff.
We are interested in candidates who have experience in the above areas within a general business environment. However, we are particularly keen on candidates who have applied these skills in a cloud/digital transformation or data analytics context.
Responsibilities
As a Consultant, your responsibilities will include:
Helping clients solve complex issues by performing analysis, providing recommendations, and utilising a combination of experience, industry knowledge, tools, and technology.
Working with a range of stakeholders both internally within the company and in external client organisations.
Taking responsibility for the delivery of work packages, ensuring adequate time and quality considerations.
Managing a small number of junior team members (approximately 1-3).
Identifying and escalating risks and issues.
Contributing to business development and practice management activities in conjunction with more senior team members.
Contributing to internal practice development by participating in proposition, methodology, and point of view development, and supporting knowledge capture and sharing.
Essential Requirements
Experience in designing and delivering operating models, service design, and/or digital transformation solutions in the UK Public Sector using both traditional waterfall and agile delivery approaches.
Previous experience within a consulting firm in a client-facing role.
An understanding of the major issues faced in the Defence & Security sector and an interest in innovative solutions and strategies being undertaken by governments.
An understanding of the current drivers shaping the business environment: digital, automation, robotics, advanced analytics.
Strong project management disciplines, including the production of detailed project plans and working to strict time constraints.
A passion for making a difference in society through a balance of logical, hands-on problem-solving skills and cutting-edge thinking.
Capability to drive an independent workstream within the context of a broader team project.
Ability to operate in ambiguous and rapidly changing circumstances.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team and create an inclusive environment with people at all levels of an organisation.
Proven record of building strong relationships with others to achieve successful outcomes.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience working in or with the Ministry of Defence, law enforcement, and/or other parts of secure government.
Experience advising clients on the adoption of disruptive digital technologies.
