We are currently recruiting for a Optical Lab Technician to join our client based in their Glasgow store.
Job Summary
Our client is looking for a skilled and motivated Optical Lab Technician to join their laboratory team. This role plays a key part in delivering high quality optical products by accurately manufacturing and glazing lenses in line with prescriptions, quality standards, and turnaround times.
Key Responsibilities
* Interpret and process optical prescriptions accurately
* Edge, glaze, and assemble lenses into frames
* Carry out quality checks to ensure lenses meet prescription and company standards
* Operate and maintain optical lab machinery safely
* Identify and resolve production issues efficiently
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe laboratory environment
* Consistently meet turnaround time targets to support timely delivery of glasses
Skills and Experience
* Maths and English to National Level 4 or 5 or equivalent
* Strong attention to detail and time management skills
* Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy over sustained periods
* Ability to follow instructions and prioritise workload effectively

Essential
* High level of attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and quality
* Good manual dexterity and practical skills, with the ability to handle delicate materials and equipment
* Ability to work efficiently and maintain accuracy under pressure and to tight turnaround times
* Reliable, with a positive and team focused approach to work
* Strong awareness of health and safety, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
Desirable
* Previous experience working within an optical laboratory or similar production environment
* Experience using optical lab equipment, including edging and glazing machinery
* Familiarity with interpreting optical prescriptions
