BlackSquare is recruiting an experienced Optometrist for a well-established independent optical and hearing care practice in Windsor.

You will provide comprehensive eye care, contact lens services and eye-health advice in line with General Optical Council standards.
The role is focused on achieving the best possible visual and clinical outcomes for patients while contributing to a smooth and professional patient journey.
Your responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive eye examinations
Completing contact lens consultations and aftercare appointments
Providing additional clinical services, such as dry-eye assessments, according to your qualifications and the needs of the practice
Working in accordance with GOC regulations and professional standards
Advising patients on eye health, lifestyle factors and preventative care
Making clear and appropriate clinical recommendations focused on patient benefit
Working closely with Dispensing Opticians and the wider support team
Maintaining accurate, detailed and contemporaneous patient records
Using specialist diagnostic equipment, including OCT, fundus cameras, tonometry and visual-field technology
Supporting the effective management of patient referrals and onward care
Participating in clinical governance and quality-assurance processes
Maintaining your Continuing Professional Development
Supporting practice growth through excellent patient care and effective communication
You will need:
A BSc in Optometry or an equivalent recognised qualification
Current registration with the General Optical Council
Previous clinical experience within a community or independent practice
Strong clinical knowledge and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
A patient-centred approach with empathy and professionalism
Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping
The ability to manage your time and remain organised in a busy practice
A collaborative approach to working with clinical and dispensing colleagues
A commitment to continued professional development
Additional accreditations, such as glaucoma-referral refinement or post-cataract qualifications, would be advantageous but are not essential.
Salary of £54,522–£67,740 depending on experience
