Order Address Check Assistant

Job Description - Order Address Check Assistant

Order Address Check Assistant

Office Administration | Orders | Remote | £25.75–£27.75 per hour | Full-time or part-time

An order can contain every product detail and still be delayed by an incomplete delivery address.

The Order Address Check Assistant looks at the routine information needed to pass an order to the next stage. This remote role involves checking supplied address fields, identifying an obvious omission and asking for the missing detail through the employer’s approved process. It does not involve choosing a courier, promising a delivery date or making a judgement about whether an order should be accepted.

The work, from an address field outward

You would begin with an assigned online order record and the address the customer provided. You may check whether the required lines, postcode and delivery contact details are present, and compare them with information elsewhere in the same order when the process calls for it. A blank flat number is not automatically an error; it depends on the information supplied. Where an item is genuinely unclear, your task is to record the issue and ask a focused question instead of guessing what the person meant.

When a customer replies, you would update the permitted field and check that the revised address appears correctly in the record. You would not alter unrelated order details. If a message raises a change to the products, payment or delivery promise, you would pass it to the colleague who handles that part of the order. A completed task leaves the address usable for the next team, with a clear note if an exception remains. This is a practical form of office administration supporting accurate customer service.

The pace is driven by incoming records and replies. Some items are ready after a quick review; others may wait for a response. You should be able to leave a pending order visibly pending and return to it when information arrives. Repeatedly asking for the same detail frustrates customers, so you would read the existing correspondence before sending a new request. You would also check that any corrected field has saved properly before marking the task complete.

What would help you succeed

Accuracy with names, numbers and addresses is the main skill. You should be able to write a short polite message, use an online form or order system and follow the team’s instructions about what can be changed. The employer will teach its system and address-check process. Previous order support, data entry or administration experience is useful but not required. Applicants with little formal work history are welcome if they can demonstrate careful checking and dependable follow-up.

An unusual delivery question should be sent to the appropriate colleague rather than answered from guesswork. Equally, this role does not expect you to know every UK address format by memory. If the supplied information looks unfamiliar but complete, you would use the team’s guidance. If the system flags a mismatch, you would investigate only as far as your instructions allow and make the reason for any handoff clear.

A few examples of routine actions

You might identify an order with no postcode and send a specific request for it. You might see that a customer supplied a corrected house number in a reply and update the designated field, then check the saved result. You might find two different delivery addresses in the same correspondence and ask which one should be used. You might also flag that a customer has asked for a product change, because that is outside an address check. Each example ends with an accurate status, not an invented solution.

Remote work makes good written notes especially useful. A colleague should be able to see whether an order is ready, awaiting the customer or awaiting internal review. A home office space that allows focused checking can help you handle address details carefully. The role may be full-time or part-time, and the pay range is £25.75–£27.75 per hour.

Applying for this opening

Your CV can show experience with order details, accurate typing or written follow-up, even if it was part of a different job. No specific order platform is a prerequisite. We welcome people at the beginning of an office career who are willing to learn the employer’s process. If you’re selected for the next step, you may be asked to complete an application on the hiring company’s website. You can use the initial application to make your relevant habits and experience easy to find.
