Job Description - Orthopedic Surgeon

Job Summary:

  • We are seeking a skilled and board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will specialize in diagnosing, treating, preventing, and rehabilitating musculoskeletal disorders and injuries. This includes expertise in surgical and non-surgical treatments of bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, and muscles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine, diagnose, and treat patients with injuries or disorders affecting the musculoskeletal system.
  • Perform surgical procedures including joint replacements, fracture repairs, arthroscopies, and spinal surgeries.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate care with physical therapists and other healthcare providers.
  • Use diagnostic tools such as X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans to assess conditions.
  • Monitor patient progress post-surgery and adjust treatment as necessary.
  • Educate patients and families about conditions, surgical procedures, and recovery plans.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.
  • Adhere to established medical protocols and ethical standards.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
  • Completed residency in orthopedic surgery from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification (or eligibility) in Orthopedic Surgery.
  • Valid state medical license to practice.
  • Proven experience in orthopedic surgical procedures.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical stamina.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Compassionate with strong patient communication abilities.
  • Proficient in modern surgical techniques and medical technology.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Experience:

  • Fellowship training in a subspecialty such as sports medicine, spine, hand, or joint replacement (optional based on need).
  • Experience with robotic or minimally invasive surgical systems is a plus.

Work Environment:

  • Hospital and/or outpatient surgical center settings.
  • May involve on-call responsibilities including nights, weekends, and holidays.
