Outdoor Classroom Assistant

Simply Education are recruiting Outdoor and Classroom Teaching Assistants for a welcoming specialist SEN setting in the Chard area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) through both outdoor learning and classroom-based support within a unique, nature-rich environment featuring extensive outdoor spaces, including a pond and woodland-style learning areas.

We are currently recruiting for both Outdoor Teaching Assistants and Class-Based Teaching Assistants.

The Role

You will support pupils across both indoor and outdoor settings, helping them access learning, build confidence, and develop independence. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will contribute to a nurturing and highly personalised learning environment.

No two days are the same - this is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys variety, teamwork, and making a real impact.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting 1:1 and small group learning
Assisting in classroom and outdoor activities
Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
Supporting personal care where required
Helping pupils work towards EHCP targets
Working alongside teachers and therapistsWhat We're Looking For

Experience in SEN, education, outdoor work, care, or youth work
Calm, patient, and proactive approach
Passion for supporting children and young people
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential)What We Offer

£115-£120 per day
Full-time, Monday-Friday
