Specialist Colorectal Nurse – Outpatient Clinics

SJK Healthcare is urgently seeking an experienced Specialist Colorectal Nurse to join busy NHS outpatient clinics. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled nurse with colorectal experience to support clinics, deliver high-quality patient care, and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

Run and support colorectal outpatient clinics alongside consultants

Perform patient assessments, history taking, and triage

Provide specialist advice and education to patients and families

Support procedures such as:

Flexible sigmoidoscopy preparation

Post-operative wound checks

Anal fistula/abscess follow-ups

Stoma care & appliance reviews

Manage telephone/virtual follow-up clinics

Complete clinical documentation to NHS standards

Work collaboratively with surgeons, HCAs, and wider MDT teams

Requirements

Registered Nurse (NMC PIN essential)

Minimum 1 year of colorectal or surgical nursing experience in the UK in paid NHS Hospitals

Strong knowledge of colorectal conditions, treatments & post-op pathways

Outpatient experience desirable

Confident in autonomous clinical practice

Excellent communication and patient education skills

Ability to manage a busy clinic load

You must live in the UK and have the right to work in the UK
