Location: Essex
Pay: £15.43 - £17.08 per hour
Start Date: ASAP
Supporting a student on a 1:1 basis within the community Driving the student safely to and from different activities, appointments and community settings Using your own initiative to support the student in accessing a range of positive and engaging activities Building a strong, trusting relationship with the student and encouraging their confidence, independence and social skills Supporting the student to develop positive routines and engage with activities outside of the traditional classroom environment Supporting a student with a range of needs, including SEN, SEMH, Autism, ADHD and challenging behaviour Encouraging positive behaviour and helping the student develop appropriate emotional regulation and coping strategies Working closely with the school, parents/carers and other professionals to provide consistent support Monitoring and recording the student's progress, engagement and behaviour Promoting independence, resilience and life skills Maintaining a safe, supportive and inclusive environment at all times Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times Outreach Learning Support Assistant Requirements:
Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational, youth work, care or support setting is highly desirable Experience supporting students with SEN, SEMH, Autism, ADHD or challenging behaviour would be advantageous A full, clean driving licence is essential Must be a confident and competent driver, as the role involves driving the student to different activities and community settings A genuine passion for supporting young people who may have experienced barriers to education Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students Patience, empathy and a calm approach when working in potentially challenging situations Ability to adapt support strategies to meet the individual needs of the student Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries A flexible, proactive and resilient approach to working within an outreach environment Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
