The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for multi-skilled maintenance engineers with a strong background in packaging machinery to join a global manufacturing leader.
This role has been created due to significant site expansion, automation, and investment, offering the opportunity to work in a highly automated, world-class production environment.
You will be maintaining high-speed packaging lines producing globally recognised consumer products, within a large-scale facility employing hundreds of people. This is an excellent opportunity for engineers looking for career progression, technical development, and exposure to advanced automation.
Carry out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance on high-speed packaging machinery
Fault find and repair across:
Filling machines Sealing, labelling and coding equipment Conveyors and palletisers Wrapping and automated packaging systems
Diagnose and resolve faults on:
Electrical systems (sensors, drives, controls, PLCs) Mechanical systems (bearings, gearboxes, chains, belts)
Conduct machine inspections, reporting on:
Equipment condition Performance issues Opportunities for reliability improvements
Support and deliver continuous improvement projects, including Packaging Line Optimisation
Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely using correct procedures and tools
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are particularly interested in engineers with direct experience in packaging or FMCG production environments.
multi-skilled (electrical & mechanical) Strong experience maintaining packaging machinery / high-speed production lines Ability to fault find using PLC diagnostics (no programming required) Experience working in: FMCG, Packaging / bottling / food production, Manufacturing or process environments
Qualifications:
Level 3 NVQ / Apprenticeship in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) OR HNC / HND in Engineering OR equivalent hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting
