Reed Food & FMCG are partnering with a Food Business in Oxfordshire as they look to recruit a Packaging Technologist to join their team. This role is crucial for supporting the development and improvement of packaging, ensuring quality standards, and driving sustainability in packaging practices.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Develop and maintain packaging specifications and ensure first-pass production sign-off at launch.
• Drive improvements in product quality by enhancing understanding of processes and the impact of packaging.
• Develop and sustain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders including Technical, Innovation/NPD, Commercial, and Purchasing teams.
• Work with suppliers to identify and deliver innovative packaging solutions that align with our sustainability strategy.
• Conduct technical line trials on new primary and secondary packaging materials to ensure compatibility with manufacturing processes.
• Maintain a clear understanding of customer packaging standards and requirements.
• Provide support and assistance to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Numerate and literate with GCSE-level success in English and Maths.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a packaging-related role or membership of an appropriate professional body.
• Experience in the retail food industry.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage results.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work unsupervised.
• Computer literacy and technical understanding of packaging substrates (desirable).
• Valid UK driving licence.
