Job Description - Packer

Position Summary:
Packer, 1st shift (6 am to 2 pm)
NSI Industries is a leading supplier of stock-and-flow electrical products to the commercial and industrial market in North America. As one of the fastest growing electrical products manufacturing companies in the US, we are looking for motivated individuals interested in long-term, growth orientated, positions with the NSI team.

Responsibilities:
Job set up:
- Getting boxes & cartons, count out first box
- Label and fold unit boxes and standard cartons
- Tape unit boxes and / or cartons

Fill units and / or standard cartons; put correct number of units in standard cartons; prepare full cartons and move to auto conveyor line
Correct unit boxes, product, and standard cartons and labels must match according to routing master and set up sheet
Each packer is required to maintain open communication with their Foreperson and the Department Supervisor, as well as maintain open communication with each of their co-workers
Reading and writing skills help employees to interpret and understand company communications and questionnaires

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to read and interpret work instructions in English
On the job training, 1-2 weeks for individual to become familiar with the job and set-up; to become proficient with the job will require 1-3 months.
Attention to detail, average intelligence and common sense; must be safety conscious

ENVIRONMENT:
100% performed in plant facilities with extensive noise and machinery running. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and fingers to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 50 pounds.
