Packer / Warehouse Operative

Tennial Personnel are currently recruiting for a reliable and detail-oriented Picker & Packer to join our client’s team based in Bildeston on a temp-to-perm basis, following a successful 10-week probation period.

The role is based within a controlled warehouse and production environment, working for an established chemical manufacturer. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately picking, weighing, labelling and packing both hazardous and non-hazardous chemical products in accordance with strict safety, quality and regulatory requirements.

This is a hands-on position that will involve manual handling, standing for extended periods and working closely with a small, collaborative team. Full training will be provided on the safe handling of hazardous materials, relevant procedures and company systems.

The successful candidate will be reliable, conscientious and highly safety-conscious, with strong attention to detail and the ability to follow processes accurately. Previous experience within a warehouse, manufacturing or chemical environment would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately entering goods, product and stock information into the company’s ERP system.

Picking, weighing and packing chemical products in accordance with order requirements, company procedures and safety standards.

Ensuring products are correctly labelled and packaged, including accurate recording of batch and lot numbers.

Handling both hazardous and non-hazardous materials safely and responsibly in accordance with COSHH, MSDS/SDS and PPE requirements.

Checking product codes, quantities, batch numbers and product condition prior to packing and dispatch.

Using warehouse equipment safely, including pump trucks and forklifts where required.

Maintaining accurate stock levels, inventory records and associated warehouse documentation.

Ensuring packaging and labelling meet company and relevant regulatory requirements, including ADR and GHS standards.

Maintaining a clean, organised and compliant warehouse and production environment.

Following all company health and safety procedures and reporting any hazards, incidents or concerns promptly.

Supporting the wider warehouse and production team with general duties as required.

Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, accuracy, efficiency and product quality.

Skills Required

Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when picking, weighing, packing and labelling products.

Ability to read and accurately interpret product labels, batch numbers and safety documentation.

Good understanding of basic warehouse processes and the ability to use handheld scanners and computerised systems.

Good level of physical fitness with the ability to undertake manual handling and remain on your feet for extended periods.

Strong commitment to health and safety procedures and the safe handling of materials.

Reliable and responsible approach to work, with good attendance and timekeeping.

Ability to work effectively as part of a small team.

Good communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Willingness to learn and undertake training relating to chemical handling and warehouse procedures.

Qualifications Required
Competent level of English and Mathematics.

Previous experience within a warehouse, manufacturing, production or chemical environment would be advantageous but is not essential.

Previous experience working with hazardous materials or within a COSHH-controlled environment would be beneficial.

Knowledge of COSHH and MSDS/SDS procedures would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.

A valid forklift licence would be desirable but is not essential.

Relevant warehouse, manufacturing or chemical handling qualifications would be advantageous.
