About the job
The purpose of this role is to lead and maintain a high standard of performance in various tasks.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and expanding packhouse operation as a Packhouse Line Leader.
You'll take responsibility for 1-2 packing lines and lead a team of up to 15 operatives, ensuring productivity, quality, hygiene, and health & safety standards are consistently met.
This is a hands on role where you'll be involved in basic machine troubleshooting, reporting issues, supporting team development, and helping to drive efficient production.
The business actively promotes from within; there is clear potential for career advancement.
Training opportunities are also available, including support towards food safety and HACCP qualifications.
The ideal candidate
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a Line Leader, Team Leader, or Supervisory role within a busy factory, food manufacturing, or fresh produce environment.
You'll have a good understanding of production machinery and be confident identifying and escalating maintenance issues when required. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential, and you'll be someone who leads by example, remains calm under pressure, and isn't afraid of a challenge. A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and desire to build a long-term career are key to success in this role.
Working pattern
Full-time, permanent position £14.30 per hour Overtime paid at 1.25x basic rate for hours worked over 48 per week 4 on / 3 off shift pattern (Sun-Wed or Wed-Sat) 40-48 hours per week, increasing during peak season (April-August)What's on offer
