Packing & Despatch Operative (Fixed Term Contract)

We are looking for a Packing & Despatch Operative to support all brands in the production, manufacture and despatch of our products.

This is a 4-month fixed term contract from February to support the businesses during the busy season. Working hours are Monday to Thursday 6:30am to 15:30pm and Friday 6:30am to 12:00 midday. There is a possibility of contract extension or permanent position at the end of the contract but this is not guaranteed.

Job Purpose

To pack finished products following defined procedures to ensure accuracy and quality, and on-time delivery, supporting our commitment to operational excellence.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

• Manufacture sample collection kits in accordance with detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within a cleanroom laboratory environment.


• Support packaging and despatching customer orders in line with defined procedures, ensuring accuracy, care, and on-time delivery to achieve “right first time” outcomes.


• Safely handle, prepare, and package chemicals and solutions in compliance with training, COSHH requirements, and company procedures.


• Maintain high standards of quality at all stages of manufacturing, packing, and despatch.


• Adhere to all Health & Safety policies, ensuring full compliance within the laboratory and packing areas.


• Maintain laboratory, packing, and storage areas to a high standard of tidiness and cleanliness.


• Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and compliance within packing and despatch operations.

Qualifications, skills, and experience:

• Previous experience in a packing environment (desirable)


• A resilient problem solver, with a positive attitude


• Strong communication and listening skills.


• Well organised with a methodical approach to tasks


• A good attention to detail with a need to get it right


• Ability to work and adapt to a fast work pace


• A proactive nature; there is always something to be done to help the team


• Self-motivated with a positive can-do-it attitude
