Painter & Decorator

We are looking for a Painter & Decorator based in Bristol, Patchway.

Location: Avon and Somerset Police sites (3 police centres and 1 training school)
Salary: £19/h PAYE
Hours: 8 AM to 5 PM
Job type: Temporary, initially until the 3rd on Jun, likely to be longer

What you will do

Paint and decorate inside and outside the buildings
Carry out repairs and maintenance on your own, and report any problems to the Charge Hand or Building Manager
Read and follow instructions, drawings and specifications for your trade
Set up new jobs using the right tools and equipment
Work at height when needed, using tower scaffolds, MEWPs, ladders and step ladders
Write a list of materials needed for repairs or changes
Carry out planned maintenance properly
Record your work on the Maximo system or similar
Keep workshops and work areas clean, tidy and safe
Follow all health and safety rules and legal requirements
Tell your manager quickly about any delays or difficulties
Share what you know with others and learn new skills through training
Take instructions by radio or PDA, which may interrupt your work from time to time
Do other tasks your manager asks, to meet our contract targets

You must have

A recognised painting and decorating qualification, such as City & Guilds, NVQ level 2
A background in painting and decorating
Good knowledge of decorating work, including AMES taping
The ability to work safely and without supervision
