About the Role

On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced and reliable Painter & Decorator to join their social housing maintenance team covering Liverpool and the surrounding areas.

This is a permanent role working primarily on void properties, carrying out all aspects of painting, decorating, and property finishing to ensure homes are presented to a high standard and ready for new tenants. The successful candidate will have experience working within social housing, property maintenance, or refurbishment environments and take pride in delivering quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare surfaces for decoration, including filling, sanding, and making good defects.

* Carry out all aspects of internal and external painting work.

* Hang wallpaper and wall coverings where required.

* Apply emulsion, gloss, satin, and specialist coatings.

* Complete re-decoration works within void and tenanted properties.

* Undertake minor repair works to walls, ceilings, woodwork, and surfaces before decorating.

* Ensure properties are completed to a high standard within agreed timescales.

* Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in good condition.

* Comply with all health and safety regulations and company procedures.

* Accurately record completed works and material usage.

Essential Requirements

* Proven experience as a Painter & Decorator within social housing, property maintenance, or construction.

* Strong knowledge of preparation, painting, and finishing techniques.

* Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.

* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

* Good understanding of health and safety practices.

* Strong communication and customer service skills.

* Full UK Driving Licence (Essential).

Desirable

* Experience working on social housing voids and planned maintenance contracts.

* Additional skills in basic plaster patching, tiling, or general maintenance.

* Relevant trade qualification or time-served apprenticeship.
