Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Painter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces and applying paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other finishes to buildings, rooms, furniture, and other surfaces. The ideal candidate will have good attention to detail, practical skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling cracks, and repairing imperfections.
Apply paint, primer, varnish, stains, and other protective or decorative finishes.
Mix and match colours accurately according to specifications.
Use brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and other painting tools safely and effectively.
Protect furniture, floors, fixtures, and other areas from paint and damage.
Carry out interior and exterior painting work.
Inspect completed work to ensure a high-quality finish.
Maintain painting tools, equipment, and work areas.
Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
Work efficiently to meet project deadlines.
Report any defects, damage, or additional work requirements to the supervisor.
Work professionally and respectfully with customers, colleagues, contractors, and other site personnel.

Requirements and Skills

Previous experience as a Painter or in a similar role.
Good knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and surface preparation.
Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good time-management and organisational skills.
Ability to follow instructions and work to specifications.
Physically fit and able to work at heights when required.
Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude.

Qualifications

Relevant painting/decorating qualification or apprenticeship is desirable.
CSCS Required
