Job Description - Paralegal - Contentious Probate


Job Title: Paralegal - Contentious Probate
Salary: £24,000 - £26,000
Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire
Contract: Full time, permanent


A highly regarded legal practice with a strong reputation in contentious probate and trust disputes is seeking a committed Paralegal to join its expanding team. Recognised for its expertise in handling complex, high-value matters both in the UK and internationally, the firm provides strategic and personalised advice to clients navigating challenging inheritance and trust issues.

The Role


Working from the firm's West Yorkshire office, you will play a key supporting role to solicitors and partners on a range of contentious probate matters. Your responsibilities will include:


  • Managing new client enquiries and assisting with client onboarding

  • Drafting legal documents, including letters of claim, instructions to counsel, and witness statements

  • Preparing court and mediation bundles

  • Opening and managing legal files, ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations

  • Advising on funding options and legal costs where appropriate

  • Conducting legal research on case law, procedure, and evidentiary matters

  • Assisting in the preparation of seminar materials and client-facing presentations
About You


You will be a law graduate, ideally with experience in contentious trusts and probate. However, candidates with exposure to complex civil or commercial litigation, or high-value private client matters, are also encouraged to apply.
Essential qualities:


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Proficiency in legal research and document drafting

  • Familiarity with legal software (experience with P4W is an advantage)

  • A proactive, team-oriented approach and a focus on client service

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines


This is a predominantly office-based role, with some travel to regional offices as required. The firm offers a supportive working environment and embraces flexible and hybrid working arrangements.
