Overview

Larson Maddox is partnering with a leading hedge fund seeking a Junior Paralegal to join its London‑based in‑house legal team. This role is ideal for a junior paralegal with hedge fund, asset management, or trading‑floor experience who wants deeper exposure to the legal and operational mechanics of a high‑performing investment platform.

You'll work directly with the legal team, operations, and investment professionals on a variety of fund, trading, vendor, and commercial matters, gaining hands‑on experience with the legal infrastructure that supports a fast‑moving buy‑side environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting in the review and negotiation of trading‑adjacent agreements, including NDAs, market data, research, technology, and analytics contracts.
• Supporting the legal team on fund documentation, investor materials, regulatory filings, and compliance‑driven workflows.
• Helping coordinate counterparty onboarding, KYC/AML documentation, and operational approvals with legal, ops, and compliance.
• Maintaining and improving contract management systems, templates, and process controls across legal and procurement.
• Supporting the operational side of investment processes, including liaising with brokers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Assisting with ad‑hoc projects tied to fund launches, new trading strategies, regulatory updates, or cross‑team business initiatives.

This role would suit:

• A Paralegal or Legal Assistant with experience in a hedge fund, asset manager, or other financial institution.
• A law graduate (LLB, GDL, LPC, SQE) with exposure to trading documentation, fund operations, or investment products.
• Someone in legal, compliance, or operations looking to build a long‑term in‑house career within the buy‑side.

You'll ideally bring:

• Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
• A proactive, ownership‑driven approach to supporting fast‑moving legal and trading teams.
• Genuine interest in hedge funds, markets, and investment strategies.
• Comfort communicating with stakeholders across legal, operations, trading desks, and external service providers.
• Ability to handle multiple deadlines in a dynamic, high‑expectation environment.
