Your mission
As a Paralegal at Lakestar Advisors, your role will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our legal, administrative and compliance functions. As a core part of your role, you will assist with NDAs, due diligence, and various administrative tasks.
This full-time role will be based in either Berlin or London depending on your experience and background. You will get the opportunity to work closely and learn alongside all of our international teams in Berlin, Zurich and London, which includes the entire investment team, our Partners, and other operational departments as well as external stakeholders in the venture capital industry.
In joining our team as our next Paralegal at Lakestar Advisors, you will be given ample opportunities to grow and develop and with autonomy to take ownership of your own projects from day one.
Core Responsibilities:
Transactional Document Support: Prepare and review investment and shareholder agreements as well as support in Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), engagement letters, supplier contracts, and other standard legal documents.
Administrative and Database Management: Provide administrative support, including maintaining legal databases,, compliance records and documentation.
Due Diligence & Compliance: Assist with the coordination and documentation of due diligence processes for startup investments, as well as handling AML and KYC requests, and assisting in timely submission of compliance-related documents.
Legal Research and Coordination: Conduct legal research for the legal team and support in coordinating with external parties, such as portfolio companies, external law firms, and other stakeholders, to facilitate legal operations.
Policy Development and Training: Support the legal team in developing and updating policies and procedures to comply with regulatory requirements. Aid in the preparation of training materials and assist in delivering compliance and legal training sessions to various departments.
Your Profile:
You hold a degree or diploma in legal studies, legal secretary or related field.
You have 2+ years of experience in a legal support role, ideally within the either private equity, venture capital, or investment management industry.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
Analytical skills with the ability to interpret legal documents and regulatory requirements.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
High standards of professional and ethical conduct.
Team player with a proactive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow within the role.
Proficiency in English is a must. Fluency in German is a bonus.
