Part 1 Architectural Assistant

Konker is working with a small, award-winning architectural practice in Oxford to help them find a Part 1 Architectural Assistant to join their team this summer.

With a close-knit team of 8 people, the studio offers a supportive environment for graduates who are eager to learn and grow. They’re looking for someone enthusiastic and proactive, with a passion for sustainability and a desire to work on thoughtful, low-energy architecture.

The practice is known for its work in Passivhaus and sustainable design, and its portfolio includes commercial refurbishments, private residential projects, and listed building renovations.

You’ll be exposed to a wide range of project types and stages — a great opportunity to build experience in real-world architecture.

To Be Considered:- Part 1 Architectural Assistant

• A Part 1 graduate available to start in Summer 2025.
• A keen interest in low-energy and sustainable design, with some awareness of Passivhaus principles.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Confidence using architectural software (Revit or similar), with the ability to learn quickly on the job.
• A genuine desire to contribute to a collaborative studio and develop your practical skillset.

The Role: Part 1 Architectural Assistant

• Mentorship and hands-on learning from experienced architects and technicians.
• A broad range of projects across all RIBA stages.
• Hybrid working – office-based with flexibility, including core hours and support for work-life balance.
• Eco-friendly schemes – including cycle-to-work and electric car support.
• Standard holiday allowance, plus office closure between Christmas and New Year.
