Our TV & Film Industry Clients based in Notting Hill, London (U.K.), are in need of a supremely-experienced Part-Time Sole-Charge Educated Nanny for 2 girls aged 6 & 9, with a teaching background & with a strong track record in school-age childcare and long tenure in previous roles who would be a strong signal fit, as the family has staff that have demonstrated longevity in their roles.

The family employs a Tutor & a Housekeeper (both part-time).

The children are into football, athletic training, gymnastics and playing musical instruments. As a family, the Household enjoys the arts, cinema, bike riding, basketball and football.

The family’s values are education, community service, a holistic approach to nutrition & well-being, as well as a strong work ethic, kindness, curiosity and individuality.

The Nanny should be endowed with emotional intelligence to deal with all the facets of the lives of the little girls, when it comes to the children’s daily & social lives together with all the pedagogical matters surrounding academia. Fluency in English is mandatory. A formal childcare qualification (NNEB, CACHE, Norland or equivalent) is highly critical.

The Educated Nanny sought should have a calm demeanour and be operationally self-sufficient. Likewise, the applicants should be professionally warm but boundaried, yet not emotionally needy or overly formal. The chosen candidates should be proactive within clear lines, while deferring to the parents on decisions. A genuine engagement with the children’s education and a love of reading are an absolute must, as well as a serious interest in nutrition and real cooking. Discretion and honesty about mistakes, good taste and cultural breadth, an ability to muck in and a sense of humour will be utterly valued by the parents.

There is a much-loved golden retriever in residence.

Travel

Occasional thus infrequent travel will occur in this role, mainly during the school holidays, to the US and around Europe.

The parents occasionally travel across the UK and abroad (including periodic US work/on-set trips).

Work Schedule

• Monday to Thursday. Term-time: 12:00 pm – 6:30 pm.
  
  


• School holidays: 9:00 am – 6:30 pm.
  
  


• Approximately 29 hours per week, blended across the year, with some flexibility within these hours: indeed, the family would like some flexibility within the agreed hours (e.g. occasional adjustments around school holidays and family travel, by mutual agreement).
  

The role is to start in August. The family is very keen to start interviewing now.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities: Sole charge of two girls (aged 6 and 9), both in full-time school in Notting Hill.

Core duties shall include, but not limited to:

School-day routine

• After-school pick-up; supervision of homework, reading and the eldest’s 11+ preparation alongside her tutor’s plan.
  


• Preparing healthy meals and snacks; managing the girls’ laundry, bedrooms and personal belongings.
  


• Coordinating and accompanying after-school activities, playdates and extracurriculars.
  


• Evening routine: baths, reading, bedtime. (In school holidays, full days from 9:00am, covering the morning routine, outings, and activities).
  

During school hours

• Household support including managing deliveries, errands and household admin, organising the children’s appointments (dental, doctor, haircuts) and light coordination with other household contractors.
  


• Organising the girls’ wardrobes, school uniforms and equipment.
  


• Planning ahead for school holidays, birthdays, family travel and activities.
  

Wider responsibilities

• Active engagement with the girls’ academic life, including liaising sensitively with school staff, supporting the eldest’s 11+ preparation & providing patient, structured support to the youngest with her reading and confidence.
  


• Comfort around dogs and occasionally helping with the family’s golden retriever.
  


• Occasional / infrequent travel with the family.
  


• Maintaining a calm, organised and warm household environment for the girls.
  

Skilled Required - Candidate Profile

• NNEB, CACHE, Norland or equivalent.
  


• Mastering the English language.
  


• Checkable references.
  


• Enhanced DBS check.
  


• Paediatric first-aid certificate.
  


• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in this role.
  


• Long tenure in previous roles.
