Partner - Accountancy Practice, South Yorkshire

Barber Mclelland are the exclusive recruitment partner for a leading Chartered Accountancy Practice based in South Yorkshire. The firm is looking to employ an ambitious, qualified practice accountant for the position of Partner as part of the firm's succession planning strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for a varied portfolio of SME clients, managing the delivery of services from statutory and management accounting, business advisory services and audit, supported by a highly experienced management team.

In addition, a key part of your role will involve developing and building client relationships and actively becoming a part of the local business community, networking, developing key business relationships and identifying opportunities for further growth and development of the firm’s client base.

The successful individual will play a pivotal role in the overall running of the practice, along with the long-term growth and development strategy. It is key that the successful individual is able to demonstrate strong leadership skills, be commercially astute and have strong technical accounting knowledge.

Skills and Qualities

To be considered for this unique opportunity, individuals will be qualified ACA or ACCA and currently working within a General Practice environment, ideally operating at Partner or Director level.

You will have already developed skills in managing your own client base, with an emphasis on statutory and management accounts, audit and business advisory, ideally with examples of value-added growth within your existing portfolio, along with examples of generating work through leads, referrals and business development opportunities.

Individuals must be able to demonstrate the skills required to succeed within such a position, which will include identifying new business service offerings, strategic development of the accountancy practice and an innovative approach to help drive change.
