Job summary: An established materials handling solutions business is looking for an experienced and organised Parts Controller to join its team. Working closely with the Service Controller, Service Engineers and Sales teams, you will be responsible for sourcing, ordering and managing parts for a range of forklift and materials handling equipment. This is a fast-paced role where strong organisation, attention to detail and excellent customer service are essential. The ideal candidate will have previous experience within forklift, plant, automotive, agricultural or industrial parts, although candidates with strong transferable experience will also be considered.
Daily responsibilities:
Coordinate the ordering, receiving and distribution of forklift spare parts. Identify and source parts for a range of forklift makes and models. Handle parts enquiries from customers, engineers and internal teams. Prepare quotations and process sales and purchase orders. Maintain accurate stock records and carry out regular stock checks. Monitor stock levels and place replenishment orders as required. Liaise with manufacturers, suppliers and parts distributors regarding availability, pricing and delivery times. Arrange urgent parts deliveries to engineers and customers. Track backorders and keep customers and engineers updated. Manage returns, warranty parts and incorrect or damaged deliveries. Update parts and stock information using the company's computer system. Maintain an organised and efficient parts warehouse. Work closely with service and workshop teams to minimise equipment downtime. Ensure invoices, delivery notes and purchase documentation are accurate. Provide excellent customer service and resolve parts-related queries. Experience you will need: Previous experience in forklift, plant, automotive, agricultural or industrial parts. Good knowledge of spare parts and part-number identification. Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. Experience working in a fast-paced environment and managing competing priorities. Ability to work independently and as part of a wider service/parts team. Good negotiation and supplier-management skills. Strong communication and customer-service skills. Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office and stock/ERP systems. Ability to work under pressure and prioritise urgent requirements. A full UK driving licence may be required depending on the role. Package: Hours: 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, including a 30-minute lunch break.
