On behalf of our client, a high-performing secondary school located in Southampton, we are seeking a dynamic and accomplished English Teacher to join their esteemed faculty starting this September.

The Role:

This is a full-time permanent position within a supportive and collaborative English department. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach English language and literature across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5, delivering a rich and engaging curriculum that inspires a love of reading and writing in students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Planning and delivering high-quality English lessons that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities.


• Designing and implementing creative and innovative lesson plans aligned with the National Curriculum and school's educational philosophy.


• Assessing student progress effectively and providing constructive feedback to support individual development.


• Contributing to the ongoing development of the English department's resources and curriculum.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Holds a Bachelor's degree in English or a related field.


• Possesses Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualifications.


• Demonstrates a proven track record of successful teaching experience at the secondary level.


• Exhibits a strong command of English language and literature, both in theory and practice.


• Is passionate about igniting a love of language and literature in young people.
