Are you an experienced Pastoral Year Leader, Behaviour Manager, Attendance Lead or Pastoral Support professional looking for your next challenge in a thriving secondary school?

Supply Heroes are working in partnership with a welcoming and well-established Good-rated secondary school and sixth form in Perry Barr, Birmingham, seeking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Year Leader on a full-time, long-term basis.

The Role

As Pastoral Year Leader, you will play a key role in supporting students to achieve both academically and personally. You will work closely with pupils, families, teaching staff and external agencies to promote positive behaviour, improve attendance and ensure students receive the support they need to thrive.

Key responsibilities include:

* Leading pastoral support for a designated year group

* Supporting student wellbeing, behaviour and attendance

* Working closely with families and external agencies to provide early intervention and support

* Monitoring safeguarding concerns and liaising with the safeguarding team where required

* Promoting high standards of conduct, engagement and personal development

* Supporting students facing social, emotional and behavioural challenges

* Building positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues

* Contributing to the wider pastoral and safeguarding provision across the school

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

* Has previous experience working as a Pastoral Year Leader, Pastoral Manager, Behaviour Manager, Attendance Officer or in a similar pastoral role within a UK secondary school

* Has a strong understanding of safeguarding, behaviour management and student wellbeing

* Is compassionate, resilient and able to build positive relationships with young people

* Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills

* Has experience working with families and external agencies

* Is organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities effectively

* Can confidently support students from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities
