Job Description - Payments Assistant

3-6 months contract with local authority

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payments Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of finance, payment processes, and accounts payable/receivable. As a Payments Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with payment processing, reconciling invoices, and ensuring accuracy in financial transactions.

Responsibilities:

Process and verify payments

Reconcile invoices and resolve any discrepancies

Assist with accounts payable and receivable tasks

Maintain accurate financial records

Collaborate with the finance team to ensure smooth payment processes

Requirements

Strong understanding of finance principles

Knowledge of payment processing procedures

Experience with accounts payable and receivable

Detail-oriented and organized

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Proficient in using financial software and MS Excel

Excellent communication and teamwork skills
