Job Description - Payroll Administrator

Job Description

To assist in payroll processing timely, accurate payment of over 40,000 employees and pensioners across our four-weekly payrolls.  

Qualifications

Your role as Payroll Administrator

  • Data input of employee information into Workday
  • Validating data entered onto Workday by employees and managers
  • Processing payroll and checking calculations of statutory payments and deductions
  • Processing of absence and calculation of sick/maternity/paternity/shared parental/adoption payments
  • Responding to pay and absence cases from employees and managers
  • To assist with any ad hoc project work as required

What you’ll bring… 

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proven team player with high levels of integrity, confidentiality, and discretion
  • Organised, methodical, self-motivated, and committed to providing quality service
  • Ability to react positively to sudden and unexpected changes in demand; a “can do” attitude
  • Good numeric and literacy skills, GCSE Maths and English (A* - B) are essential, further education is desirable
  • Good level of IT literacy inclusive of Microsoft Excel
  • 1-year high volume Payroll experience (desirable but not essential)
  • CIPP Foundation Degree (desirable but not essential)
  • Ability to prioritise work and work to deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
