Job Description - Payroll Administrator

Are you an experienced payroll professional looking to join a close-knit and supportive team within a growing independent accountancy firm? Based in Chichester, our client offers a collaborative office environment where you’ll play a key role in delivering payroll services to a diverse and expanding portfolio of clients across various sectors.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a small, dedicated team that values precision, client service, and team spirit. The business is undergoing steady growth and offers long-term career progression for the right individual.

What will the Payroll Administrator role involve?

  • Processing weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for a portfolio of clients.
  • Ensuring accurate calculations of statutory payments including SSP, SMP, and SPP.
  • Handling pension contributions and auto-enrolment compliance.
  • Managing payroll queries from clients and HMRC.
  • Producing payslips, P45s, P60s, and other statutory payroll documents.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in payroll legislation and best practices.

Suitable Candidate for the Payroll Administrator vacancy:

  • Proven payroll experience, ideally within a practice or bureau environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Comfortable working to deadlines and managing multiple client needs.
  • A team player with a proactive attitude and a professional approach to client service.
