Job Description - Payroll Advisor

Payroll Specialist

Reed is recruiting for a Payroll Specialist to join our clients growing team. This role requires adherence to FCA regulations and a commitment to staying updated with industry developments. You will manage a portfolio of payroll clients, ensuring the accurate and efficient execution of pay runs and compliance with HMRC guidelines.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Manage an allocated portfolio of payroll clients, ensuring timely and accurate processing of monthly, weekly, 2-weekly, and 4-weekly pay runs.
  • Maintain accuracy and up-to-date records on internal systems, including LENNY and other payroll systems used across all client records.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on all matters relating to payroll via telephone and email.
  • Liaise with HMRC as necessary to ensure compliance and up-to-date knowledge of regulations.
  • Handle payroll administration tasks such as dealing with allocated incoming and outgoing post, printing and scanning documentation, issuing payslips, P45s, and P60s, and uploading monthly pension contributions via online provider portals.
  • Participate in new business client meetings, aiming to meet agreed annual targets.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in payroll management.
  • Familiarity with payroll software, ideally including LENNY or Sage Payroll
  • Strong understanding of HMRC regulations and payroll compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of handling client interactions and liaising with government bodies.
  • Ability to work within a team and independently to meet deadlines and maintain high levels of accuracy.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development as outlined by line management.
