Job Description - Payroll Analyst

Payroll Analyst

£28,000 - £35,000

Glasgow

Permanent, Full time

Hybrid working and flexi-time

Reed are excited to be partnering with a national leader in professional and financial services in their search to recruit an experienced Payroll Analyst.

The main purpose of this role is to oversee the processing of payroll to a range of clients, whilst forging strong client relationships.

This role would be ideal for any driven and aspiring payroll professional, seeking to take their career to the next level at a prestigious organisation.

The main responsibilities of the role are:

  • Taking responsibility for managing client payroll needs, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to process
  • Overseeing and processing payrolls, coordinating resources to meet deadlines and quality standards
  • Leading payroll projects whilst developing and implementing process improvements in collaboration with the wider team
  • Managing and maintaining client relationships across a varied portfolio, regularly monitoring service levels
  • Handling and resolving all payroll-related queries for your clients
  • Working alongside senior managers and stakeholders to identify training needs and supporting team development
  • Supervising day-to-day team activities, overseeing work, giving clear direction, and offering regular, constructive feedback
  • Responding to employee enquiries, escalating to Assistant Managers where appropriate
  • Leading new client implementations, managing the full end-to-end process to ensure a smooth onboarding experience
  • Developing and maintaining a strong understanding of pension scheme setup and administration

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working in a similar payroll role
  • A sound working knowledge of UK payroll legislation
  • A background in team management
  • Demonstratable client facing skills
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to work independently
