Job Title: Senior Payroll and Bookkeeping Specialist

Location: Ingatestone, Essex

Salary: Up to £39,000 per annum

They pride themselves on delivering exceptional financial services to their clients, and we're looking for a dedicated Senior Payroll and Bookkeeping Specialist to join their growing team in Ingatestone.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and process payroll for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Maintain and update bookkeeping records, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Provide support during audits and liaise with external auditors as needed.
• Offer expert advice on payroll and bookkeeping matters to clients and internal teams.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in payroll processing and bookkeeping, preferably in a senior role.
• Strong knowledge of payroll software and accounting systems (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero).
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., AAT, CIPP) are highly desirable.
