Job Description - Payroll and HR Administrator

Payroll & HR Administrator

Location: Watford

Full-Time - 5 days on site working

Salary: upto £32,000 per annum

Are you a detail-driven HR pro with a passion for payroll? Join our clients dynamic team and play a vital role in supporting a professional, efficient, and people-centred HR & Payroll function! As the Payroll & HR Administrator, you'll ensure compliance and accuracy across the employee lifecycle - from onboarding to offboarding - while being the friendly first point of contact for all things payroll!

Payroll & Reporting:

  • Be the go-to person for payroll queries
  • Manage payroll impacting changes (absence, maternity, etc.) with clarity and care
  • Maintain data accuracy in our HRIS system
  • Run reports, check breaks, holiday balances, and accruals with precision

Compliance:

  • Ensure right-to-work documentation is compliant before start dates
  • Maintain accurate records of new starters and leavers
  • Handle offboarding tasks with professionalism

Employee Lifecycle Admin:

  • Process leavers and issue termination letters
  • Support onboarding, contract changes & promotions
  • Respond to reference requests and general queries

General HR Support:

  • Provide first-line advice to line managers
  • Assist with HR projects and process improvements
  • Help streamline and automate where possible.

Background:

  • Proven experience with monthly and 4-weekly payrolls
  • Strong attention to detail & top-tier accuracy
  • Organised, proactive, and able to juggle priorities
  • Confident communicator (written & verbal)
  • Trusted with sensitive info - discretion is key
  • CIPD Level 3 (or working towards it)
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Team player with a positive, can-do attitude
