Job Description - Payroll Assistant

We are seeking a Payroll Assistant to join our client's finance team based in Warrington. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a growing business leading in their sector.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in processing weekly and monthly payrolls accurately and on time
Maintain payroll records and ensure data integrity
Calculate wages, deductions, and statutory payments such as SSP, SMP, and pensions
Respond to payroll-related queries from staff and management
Assist with year-end processes including P60s and P11Ds
Support finance team with ad hoc administrative tasks as required

Requirements:

Previous experience in a payroll or finance administration role
Good understanding of payroll legislation and best practices
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of Sage50 Payroll software is advantageous
