Payroll Assistant

Venn Group is delighted to be partnered with a leading children’s charity to recruit a Payroll Assistant on a permanent contract. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, working closely with Payroll, HR, and Finance teams to meet statutory requirements and maintain up-to-date records.

Key responsibilities of the role:

• Process monthly payroll using the ADP iHCM Managed Service system
• Ensure departments and employee records are accurately set up and maintained
• Administer pension contributions, auto-enrolment, and reporting
• Manage statutory payments including SSP, SMP, and SPP
• Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure timely archiving and filing
• Collaborate with Finance to support monthly reconciliations and reporting
• Respond to employee payroll queries and support with general administration
• Assist with year-end processes, HMRC submissions, and audit preparation

Ideal candidate profile:

• A recognised payroll qualification (e.g. CIPP) or strong hands-on experience in a payroll role
• Solid understanding of UK payroll legislation, tax, NI, and pensions
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work to strict deadlines
• Confident communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach
