Job Description - Payroll Clerk

Reporting into the Finance Manager and Managing Director, as Payroll Clerk you will be successfully responsible for managing payroll processes and ensuring accuracy in financial transactions within the accounting and finance department.

This includes key duties around HMRC and Pensions for example.

Client Details

Michael Page are supporting a reputable family owned professional services business in North Leeds, who are looking to recruit a Payroll Clerk to join there established finance team. Working individually and as part of a wider team, this position will be contributing to the payroll function with key duties around HMRC and Pensions for example.

Description

  • Process payroll for employees, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
  • Calculate wages, deductions, and bonuses in an efficient manner.
  • Assist in preparing payroll reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Respond to employee queries regarding payroll and related matters.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure timely payments and reconciliations.
  • Monitor payroll policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal standards.
  • Support the implementation of payroll system upgrades or changes.

Profile

  • Previous experience in payroll processing within professional services or related industries.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and accounting systems.
  • Understanding of HMRC and pensions.
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant payroll laws and regulations in the UK.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with team members and employees.

Job Offer

  • Salaried between £28,000-£34,000 per annum
