Job Description - Payroll Manager

An ambitious and experienced Payroll Manager is required for one of the UK's top 20 accounting firms who are focused on serving the SME market. Our client is a forward-thinking practice that embraces creativity, collaboration, and innovation. They have a strong team-focused culture and a commitment to excellence.

If you have extensive experience in either Payroll Bureau, Outsourced Payroll or In-House Payroll and are not afraid to make changes, put systems and processes in place and streamline the department, this is a great opportunity for you to make a meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise across payroll, both internally and externally for the firm's clients
  • Lead the team in ensuring the delivery of a first-class service to clients.
  • Have prior experience of implementing new systems and payroll software
  • Support and nurture other team members to aid their development.
  • Build and maintain relationships with a diverse portfolio of clients.
  • Leverage expertise across all aspects of payroll processing, from data input to report generation.
  • Identify opportunities to optimise and modernise payroll processes through innovative ideas.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Passionate about the details and competent in all aspects of payroll processing.
  • Strong leadership skills to guide and support team members.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills to maintain client relationships.
  • Forward-thinking and problem-solving abilities to enhance payroll processes and client experience.
