An established and growing firm of Chartered Accountants in Huddersfield is looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to join their team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong payroll experience who enjoys working with clients and leading a small team.

About the Role

You will manage payroll and CIS services for a range of clients. This includes running payrolls, making sure all deductions are correct, answering client queries, and keeping up with HMRC deadlines.

Main Responsibilities

• Process weekly, monthly, and annual payrolls
• Manage CIS payments and returns
• Handle PAYE, National Insurance, pensions, and other deductions
• Submit forms such as P45s, P60s, and CIS300s
• Support clients with payroll queries and give clear advice
• Keep accurate records and follow data protection rules
• Help lead and support the payroll team

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in payroll, ideally in an accountancy firm
• Good knowledge of UK payroll and CIS rules
• Confident using payroll software (IRIS, Brightpay, Moneysoft) and Excel
• Able to meet deadlines and manage your workload
• A payroll qualification like CIPP is a bonus
• Friendly, professional, and client-focused
