Job Description - Payroll manager

Job Title : Payroll Manager Location: England or Glasgow, United Kingdom About ICG Medical: ICG Medical is a leading global nursing recruiter with a focus on nurses across all specialities, midwives and home care/healthcare workers.

Job Summary : We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Manager to join our team in either England or Glasgow, United Kingdom.

Responsibilities: · UK Payroll Management: Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and understanding of UK PAYE regulations and guidelines.

Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements related to payroll processing, tax deductions, and other relevant legislation.

· Offshore Payroll Management: Oversee and manage the payroll operations based in South Africa, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing.

Coordinate with the offshore team to guarantee compliance with local tax regulations and statutory requirements.

· NHS Payroll Management: Prepare and submit all necessary requirements for NHS payroll, including documentation, reports, and financial statements.

Manage day-to-day payroll activities for nurses, ensuring accurate and timely payments.

· PAYE Management: Handle PAYE processes for in-clients, ensuring compliance with regulations and accurate processing of tax deductions.

Provide guidance and support to the team regarding PAYE calculations, reporting, and submissions.

· Team Collaboration: Work closely with the umbrella compliance team, providing guidance and support to ensure payroll compliance, accuracy, and efficiency.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve payroll-related issues and maintain effective communication channels.

Qualifications: · Minimum of 5 years of experience in UK payroll management within the staffing and recruitment industry, with a strong focus on the healthcare sector being beneficial.

· Thorough understanding of UK PAYE regulations, tax deductions, and statutory requirements.

Familiarity with NHS payroll processes is required.

· Experience in managing offshore payroll operation is beneficial.

Familiarity with local tax regulations and compliance requirements in South Africa is a plus.

· Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.

Experience in overseeing a team of 2-10 individuals, preferably in a payroll or compliance function.

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing payroll, ensuring compliance with regulations and timely payments.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate payroll-related information to internal and external stakeholders.

· Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and implement process improvements.

· Proficient in using payroll management software and tools.

Experience with relevant systems and software is preferred.
