Job Description - Payroll Manager - Accountancy Practice- Hybrid working

Are you an experienced Payroll Manager with a strong background in UK accountancy practice? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment managing multiple company payrolls? We want to hear from you.


About the Role:
We're looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Manager to lead our payroll team within a dynamic accountancy practice based near London Bridge. The successful candidate will take ownership of managing complex, multi-company payrolls using Sage Payroll, ensuring accurate and timely payments while maintaining compliance with UK payroll legislation.


Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and process end-to-end payrolls for multiple companies within a practice environment.
• Lead and support a small payroll team to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
• Handle auto-enrolment and pension submissions including NOW, NEST, and Royal London.
• Submit BACS salary payments via Sage.
• Ensure accurate processing and reporting of statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP).
• Stay up to date with changes in payroll legislation and advise clients accordingly.
• Provide exceptional client service and resolve payroll queries promptly.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders as needed.


Requirements:
• Proven experience in a UK accountancy practice managing payroll across multiple companies.
• Proficient in Sage Payroll and BACS salary payment systems.
• Strong understanding of pension schemes including NOW, NEST, and Royal London.
• Up-to-date knowledge of statutory payments and UK payroll legislation.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Experience with payroll reconciliation and reporting.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
