Payroll Manager - Practice

A tremendously exciting opportunity for an ambitious and seasoned payroll manager to join this small but thriving East Kent Firm of accountants.

We offer company accounts, corporate and personal tax returns, bookkeeping and VAT services and management accounts.

They currently have a vacancy for a Payroll Specialist, taking over the day to day management of their payroll and benefits function.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Management and organisation of overall payroll function.
• End to End processing of Payroll Data, including RTI, Auto-Enrolment and Benefits.
• Ensuring compliance with all Payroll Legislation and HMRC Reporting.
• Communication of payroll updates and responsibilities to clients and stakeholders.
• Tracking various deadlines, both internally and on behalf of clients.
• Verification and Submission of Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) returns.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A strong understanding of payroll legislation and calculation.
• Excellent organisational skills and time management.
• Experience within a bureau payrolling environment, managing multiple payrolls at once.
• Good written communication standards and a strong client focus.
• A strong understanding of auto-enrolment processes, including uploading data to pension providers.
• The ability to work independently and remain focussed.
• A good understanding of CIS, P11D and PAYE Settlements.

We’d love to see:

• Experience using BrightPay and Xero Payroll for payroll processing.
• A broader understanding of Employment Law and HR, and its interaction with payroll.
• CIPP training and Membership.
