Payroll Officer - Stoke-on-Trent

Hybrid working | Full-time | Up to £29,000

We're working with a growing manufacturing business in Stoke-on-Trent that's looking for a detail-driven Payroll Officer to join their team. If you're looking for a role where you can take ownership of a busy payroll process and be the go-to person for getting people paid correctly and on time, this could be the one.

You'll be supporting both weekly and monthly payroll runs, managing everything from starters, leavers and statutory deductions to RTI submissions and pension processing. There's plenty of variety - and a real opportunity to make the role your own, especially if you enjoy working with data and pride yourself on accuracy.

The company offers hybrid working (typically 2 days from home), and a supportive team environment where your input will genuinely be valued.

What you'll be doing:

• Processing payroll for multiple sites across weekly and monthly runs
• Managing starters, leavers, and pay changes
• Handling statutory payments and deductions (SMP, SSP, SPP, etc.)
• Submitting RTI reports and ensuring PAYE, NI and other payments are on time
• Managing pension contributions and auto-enrolment
• Responding to payroll queries and ensuring employees are supported
• Creating reports for senior leadership and parent company use

What we're looking for:

• At least 2 years' experience in a payroll position
• Solid understanding of payroll legislation and calculating statutory payments
• Great attention to detail and comfortable working to deadlines
• Advanced Excel skills (vlookups, formulas, confident with data)
• A proactive, discreet, and reliable approach
