Location: LS25, Leeds
Salary: £30,000 - £33,000 per annum, dependent on experience
Job type: Full-time, permanent

About the role

We're looking for a hardworking, outgoing Payroll Officer to join our friendly team. You'll play a key part in making sure our people are paid accurately and on time, while being a approachable point of contact for employees and managers.

Key responsibilities

Processing weekly/monthly payroll accurately and on time
Calculating and processing overtime, bonuses, commission, statutory pay (SSP, SMP, SPP) and deductions
Handling starters, leavers and changes to employee details
Managing tax, National Insurance, pensions and other statutory deductions
Preparing and submitting HMRC RTI returns and year-end reports
Responding to payroll queries from employees and managers in a helpful, professional way
Carrying out payroll checks and reconciliations to ensure accuracy
Keeping confidential payroll records up to date and compliant with legislationAbout you

At least 2 years' experience in a payroll role
Good working knowledge of UK payroll legislation, PAYE and pensions auto-enrolment
Experience with payroll software and confident using Excel
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
A hardworking, reliable approach with the ability to meet deadlines
Outgoing and personable, with strong communication skills
Able to handle sensitive information with discretion
CIPP qualification or working towards one is desirable, but not essential
