Payroll Officer
Permanent - Remote – Up to £28,000pa
Contract hours: 35 hours per week.
UK - Flexible Home based - TRAVEL TO SITE ON AVERAGE ONCE PER MONTH .

We are working with a fantastic leading national organisation to hire for a Fully Remote Permanent Payroll Officer. You will be working in a fantastic and well-establish Payroll team. This is a large, complex business so the role provides a great opportunity to grow and develop.

The Payroll Officer is responsible for working with the Payroll Supervisors to ensure the delivery of an effective and efficient, high quality payroll service to staff and managers across the organisation. You will be required to provide an effective and accurate output of work to meet the demands of the role, ensuring a consistently high level of customer care is provided, and work to agreed timeframes and tight deadlines.

Responsibilities as a Payroll Officer:
Administer the payment of employee salaries through Payroll System, collating and inputting all relevant information for the monthly payroll cycle including new starters, leavers, contract changes, sickness absence payments, maternity and paternity pay, etc.
Provide advice and guidance to employees and managers on a wide range of payroll related matters, including salary payments and enhancements, expenses, Tax, National Insurance, statutory deductions and company policies.
Ensure manual and computerised records are accurately maintained and updated regularly in line with data protection requirements in order to maintain data integrity of payroll.
Work collaboratively and in a supportive manner within Payroll, Pensions, HR, and Finance team, together with other departments.
Support the Payroll Supervisor and other team members to provide information to external clients including HMRC and other statutory bodies.

Candidate Requirements
Ability to effectively handle and resolve complex enquiries.
Strong payroll knowledge across the full pay cycle and other activities such as tax year-end.
Ideally CIPP qualified or prepared to undertake the qualification.
Experience of Zellis payroll (Resource Link or iHCM Cloud).
Home-based with occasional to other locations for team meetings, training etc (typically monthly).
