Job Description - Payroll Specialist

Location: Plymouth, Devon (PL7 area) - Full time, office based (not remote or hybrid)

Salary: Up to £39,000

About the Role:

TQR Plymouth is excited to partner with a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing business in Plymouth, Devon, to find an experienced Payroll professional who is ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role.

As a Payroll Professional, you will be at the heart of ensuring employee satisfaction through precise and timely payroll processing. Your expertise will be crucial in managing a large volume of payroll data, handling various deductions and contributions, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process payroll data for a significant number of employees.
  • Manage a wide range of deductions and contributions, including pensions, benefits, and taxes.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with the wider people team to support a positive employee experience.
  • Utilise payroll software and confidently use Excel for data management.

You’ll be ideal for this role if you have:

  • Proven experience in processing large volumes of payroll data.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll software (e.g. Sage or Iris) and Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team player.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle challenging situations.
