Job Description - Payroll Specialist

Role: Payroll Specialist
Location: Yeadon, LS19
Salary: £25,000-£32,000 pa (dependant on experience)
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8.30am-5.00pm

Our client, a well-established accountancy firm located in Yeadon, is seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to join their dynamic team on a full-time basis. This position involves managing payroll services for a diverse portfolio of clients. The firm prides itself on its modern approach to work and fosters a supportive, close-knit team environment where everyone is dedicated to delivering excellent results while enjoying their work.

Key Responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist:
  • Process end to end monthly and weekly employee payrolls for multiple clients.
  • Inputting of monthly payroll data into the payroll system.
  • Effectively plan and manage own workload.
  • Ensure payroll delivery is within agreed deadlines.
  • Validating and inputting all data received.
  • Processing new starters, leavers and contract changes.
  • Inputting, calculation and recording of statutory payments.
  • Processing and submission of relevant HMRC forms.
  • Implementation and processing of auto-enrolment pension schemes for all employees.
  • Action calculations where necessary for more complicated situations including statutory payments, holidays, redundancies and pay adjustments.
  • Assisting year-end payroll procedures.

Skills / Experience required:
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience of the end-to-end payroll process
  • Practice experience an advantage
  • Previous usage of Sage 50 would be desirable
  • Ability to work independently, efficiently, with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Numerate with the ability to analyse, process and present information
